My name is Caralyn Henry and I am the creator of Expressive H'arts Studio. I have been an educator, life coach, mentor, and consultant for 23 years. Expressive H'arts Studio is the latest manifestation of this long journey. At my core, I am a storyteller, teacher and mentor. It has been my distinct honor to work with people all ages in almost every area of learning. Currently, I work with teens and adults in the area of giving voice to their lives. I work with South Bay Community Center supporting teens in recovery and teens working to get out of the juvenile court system. I also work with young people supporting them in growing as writers. I also love to work with groups of adults exploring all aspects of expressive arts in support of their busy lives. I come to this naturally...meaning...I have walked this road myself. Trained as an educator and an expressive arts therapist has helped alot but nothing has impacted me more in this work than my own journey. I am a living example of the good that can come from delving into writing, art, music and movement as a way to grow and learn in one's life. I have seen first hand how much my body has to teach me or how much my intuitive self has to show me. I love the beauty and wisdom that story brings to my life and the lives of others. This is why so much of what I do with people begins with story. In the snapshots above, a little piece of me is held in each picture. I am a mother to two beautiful children and they teach me each day and in every way what it means to be human. I love the earth and a lot of the work we do here at the studio is rooted in earth wisdom and native tradition. I know that the earth has wisdom for us that we can only access through the expressive arts. It is my greatest wish that each of us can find the peace that resides inside and live lives full of joy.
